Before your visit
A calm visit starts at home. Here is how to prepare yourself and your pet, and what happens once you arrive.
Before you set off
- Bring your insurance details and any previous records
- Let your dog have a walk before the visit; a cat travels most safely in a carrier
- Before surgery: fast according to instructions, water is fine
- For acute problems, always call 08-400 654 00 first
When you arrive
- Check in at reception; we have separate waiting areas for dogs and cats
- The veterinarian goes through the visit and gives a price estimate before treatment
- Parking is available near Järnvägsgatan 24
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to book an appointment?
For planned care such as vaccination, health checks, investigations, surgery and dental treatment, book in advance online or by phone.
For urgent problems, please call us before you arrive so we can assess the situation and plan the visit. Emergency cases are accepted subject to available resources and prioritised according to medical need.
What does a visit cost?
A veterinary consultation starts from 2,450 SEK. The total cost varies depending on the examinations and treatment needed.
We want you to feel informed and involved, so we go through the next steps and their cost before starting any procedure. You can find more example prices on our price page.
Can I stay with my pet?
We want you to be involved and well informed throughout the visit. For outpatient visits you are normally with your pet during the examination.
For surgery and dental care, your pet is looked after by our clinical team from admission to discharge. You receive clear information about the care and a plan for follow-up.
How does direct insurance settlement work?
We offer direct settlement with most insurers through a settlement portal. We submit the claim for you, and you pay the portion your insurance does not cover before you head home.
To arrange direct settlement we need the name of your insurer and the pet's insurance number. A fee of 199 SEK applies for the settlement portal.
Terms and coverage differ between insurers. You are welcome to contact your insurer with any questions about what your particular policy covers.
Do you accept referrals?
Yes. We accept referrals and can help with routine, urgent and resource-intensive cases. Existing client relationships are respected.
Send the referral together with a copy of the medical record and a clear clinical question to remiss@animed.se. For urgent cases, the referring clinic should call to ensure prompt handling.
Once we have received the referral we contact the owner, plan the investigation and treatment, and report back to the referring veterinarian.
