This autumn we welcome a new colleague to AniMed, a veterinarian who is a Step 2 specialist in cardiology. Step 2 is the highest level in the Swedish specialist system, and it is unusual for an animal hospital to have a cardiologist with that competence on site.
Heart disease is common in both dogs and cats, and the signs are not always easy to read. Coughing, tiredness, laboured breathing or less stamina on a walk can have causes that have nothing to do with the heart. With a cardiologist in the building we can carry out a thorough investigation using cardiac ultrasound, ECG and blood pressure measurement, and then follow your pet over time.
Having this competence with us also means you avoid being sent elsewhere. Investigation, treatment and follow-up happen at the same address, with the same team.
